The Native Tongues were bigger than a mere posse/crew/click or what have you. They represented afrocentricity, positivity and most important….CREATIVITY!!! The Holy Trinity was Jungle Brothers, De La Soul & A Tribe Called Quest. The music they made in the late 80s to mid 90s help transform and restructure Hip Hop. Their influence on the culture still resonates to this day. They showed us that the music, lyrics and concepts are limitless….there is no place ur mind can’t travel.
