Born in Greenville, Mississippi, GRANDfathercloc spent the first year of his life there before moving to Houston, TX.  A native of the Alief portion of Houston, he has always felt like the “blue ant in Hermann Park”. He is a connoisseur of early television, movies, hip-hop & comic books. The latter three are the force of his current persona.  He never shies away from debating, teaching and promoting that foundation. These three areas collided head-to-head early in his life. Comics and hip-hop were just entertainment some twenty years ago and then 15 years ago the music began to develop him as a student while the comics took a backseat. His earliest memory of hip-hop is Whodini’s “Back in Black”. Given where I grew up, I feel that I am ahead of the curve as far as hip-hop is concerned. In my youth, I wasn’t caught up in needing to know what was popular to solidify my presence among my peers.  I feel as though shift has occurred in the past 10 years because we grow up and realize most of the popular music we listen to growing up was bullshit.” This belief is one of the reasons for his name which is layered with meanings. “Time is relative but it is also a constant and that’s how I feel I have been with hip-hop in general. The music was always there and always will be, the same way fans may jump in and out but I will always be the constant waiting for everyone else to discover it or be interested in it again. No matter how old I get I will always support it and give voice to the art.” GRANDfathercloc has done his share of promoting the art as part of the radio show Late Nite Snax which concentrated on hip-hop that might not be as accessible to the public.  Currently, you can find him on The Progress Report Podcast here on www.peaceuvmine.com.  He is the mastermind behind a series of compilations sent out to the public called “Quarterly Meeting” which displays current artists who have released albums within the previous quarter of the year.
