Savvi

S.A.V.V.I. | “Nu Speaker of the South…”

The name Savvi is an acronym for ‘Shrewd and Vivid’, and describes his style as his appreciation of classic or nostalgic eras from the past blended with futuristic accessible elements in the present. Savvi aims to bridge generational, style, and substance gaps in all forms of soul music using hip hop as the medium.

Savvi is an artist with a reverence for artists that have paved the way and an appreciation for music and art that breaks boundaries.  This is the essential foundation for his many ventures in artistic entrepreneurship.  To label him multi faceted is an understatement.

Equal parts artist and entrepreneur, Savvi makes the impossible happen on both ends daily.   He has earned a steady and faithful fan base by producing quality music since 2004.  His first album Hueston Chronicles: Fixtape was the first step to building Peace Uv Mine as a respected independent record label.  The album provided a fresh sound from the city of Houston and earned Mr. Fowler a Houston Press Best Indie Hip Hop Artist nomination on 2005.

Interested in building a sustaining musical entity that represents Houston in a different light, Savvi built an amazing roster of artists at PUM.  In 2007, the groundbreaking group H.I.S.D (Hueston Independent Spit District) released The District.  The District earned acclaim from various media sources and artists such as Rappers I Know and the incomparable Questlove.

In every album, event, and business venture, Savvi seeks bring a fresh and creative alternative to what exists, not as a replacement, but as a choice.  Peace Uv Mine continues to embody the spirit of individuality.
